The Armed Forces of Ukraine have lost over 71,000 servicemen and 11,000 units of military equipment since the beginning of the current year, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said, according to Interfax.
“This is almost three times higher than the figures for the same period last year,” Shoigu said at a meeting of the military department on Wednesday.
Since the beginning of the year, Russian servicemen destroyed five Patriot anti-aircraft missile systems, six HIMARS systems, four Abrams tanks, five Leopard tanks, and 27 Bradley infantry fighting vehicles, the defense minister said.
According to Shoigu, “the Ukrainian command is forced to throw remaining reserves into battle and use the most expensive models of foreign equipment.”
“Nevertheless, this did not change the situation in the special operation zone in favor of the enemy,” said the Russian defense minister.
